Between substance and light, the segmented tile vault holds the sky through fired clay tiles from Castilla y León, Spain, form its body, shaped by the heat of the kiln. These tiles, earthy and robust, are bound within a geometry of concrete-edged triangles, their arrangement defined by the forces of compression and tension. The adjoining triangles frame the sky through light and shadow; they intersect and part, shaping an ever-shifting dialogue between the structure and its surrounding ambiance. The sky is not simply seen through these gaps, as it is invited in, filtered through an architecture that embraces both presence and absence. It does not merely shelter but reveals, holding space not as an enclosure but as an experience, a woven space of material and void, weight, and suspension.
